Projects will focus on expanding after-school provision in high-crime areas,  supporting the transition from primary to secondary school, and reducing school exclusions

 PSHE teachers have been sent new lesson plans to communicate to their pupils the realities of carrying a knife.

Schools do not have the ability or the resources to counter the complex societal problems behind the rise in knife crime.

Some secondary schools are giving safety lessons to 11 to 16-year-olds on avoiding knife crime over the summer holidays, with help from Home Office teaching material.
