Manchester-based tech specialist Sync has partnered with AI in Education, founded by educators from Bourne Education Trust, to bring dedicated AI training to schools and colleges across the UK.
Many teachers report feeling unprepared to use AI effectively in classrooms, raising concerns around responsible adoption. Introducing ‘AiEd Certified’, developed by schools for schools - a research-backed framework that helps educators build confidence and competence in using AI ethically and safely.
Developed by schools, for schools, AiEd Certified is a research-led framework grounded in pedagogy that helps educational settings respond to the rapid pace of AI change. With classrooms, student work and teacher workflows already being transformed, the framework ensures staff and students can thrive in an AI-powered future.
Rather than a training programme, AiEd Certified provides a structured pathway for schools and colleges to build confidence and capacity across five key areas: AI literacy; policies and ethics; tools and systems; digital pedagogy; and collaboration and community.
Marcus Durkan, Head of Education at Sync, said: “Schools are under pressure to respond to rapid technological change. AI is already reshaping education, and frameworks like AiEd Certified are essential to ensure that adoption happens responsibly. This partnership enables us to support schools not just with technology, but with the structure and assurance they need to lead confidently in this new digital era.”
Alex Russell, CEO at Bourne Education Trust, added: “AiEd Certified was built by educators who understand the realities of the classroom. It puts teachers in control of AI, ensuring it enhances learning and equity rather than driving division. Through this partnership, we can help schools embed AI in a way that is ethical, research-informed, and rooted in pedagogy.”
The partnership will extend to joint activity at major education events, including BETT 2026, where Sync and AI in Education will showcase practical frameworks for responsible AI adoption in schools, colleges, and Multi Academy Trusts.
