Basingstoke pupils protest ‘off-topic’ exam questions
Pupils in Basingstoke are protesting against their Biology A Level exam after finding that little of exam contained questions on topics they had studied.
Over 4,000 people from across the country have singed the protest petition.
The pupils argued that questions were ‘off-topic’ and claimed the paper was a repeat of a previous paper for AS Level students two years ago, which covered topics they had not been taught.
A Pearson spokesman said: "Our exam papers accurately reflect the curriculum that schools, teachers and learners have been working towards.
"In the case of the unit 4 Biology paper the specification is clear that some content may draw on AS material."
