Vimpex is an independent British manufacturer and distributor of life-safety equipment. Founded in 1994, the company designs, develops and manufactures from its headquarters and factory in Great Wakering, Essex, supplying installers, distributors, OEM manufacturers and the emergency services in more than 90 markets worldwide.

Notification is the heart of the business: fire alarm sounders and beacons, voice-enhanced notification devices, water-leak detection and lockdown warning systems. The range includes Identifire Pro, the first new range of building alarm notification devices in a generation; ClamBell®, the only fire alarm bell designed and manufactured in the UK; and the Fire-Cryer® and Identi-Cryer® voice sounders.

Devices are built on an in-house surface-mount line and approved to EN 54 and BS 5839, so the products Vimpex specifies, tests and warrants are the products it builds. As one of the few remaining independent manufacturers of alarm notification devices in Europe, the company has been certified to ISO 9001 since 1997 and ISO 14001 since 2021.

Alongside Notification, the Rescue and Industrial divisions supply technical rescue equipment, PPE and industrial tools to the emergency services and construction sector — three divisions, one set of values.
