The Top 100 Apprenticeship Employers and Top 50 Small and Medium Employers (SMEs) league tables for 2023 have been launched during a special live broadcast last week.

Employers are ranked on the number of apprentices they take on and their commitment to diversity and apprenticeship achievements.

First compiled in 2020, the rankings have been developed by the Department of Education, in partnership with High Fliers Research.

The rankings recognise employer for their commitment to employing apprentices, their creation of new apprenticeships, the diversity of their new apprentices, and the number of apprentices who complete their apprenticeships and progress further with the employer.

Investors in People, UCAS and the University of Nottingham supported this year’s rankings.

Education Secretary Gillian Keegan said:

"These employers in sectors from digital, childcare and healthcare recognise the benefits apprentices can bring to their business, helping to create a talent pipeline and filling skills gaps to grow the economy. I would encourage all businesses - no matter what size or sector - to follow their lead.

The Top 10 Apprenticeship Employers for 2023 are The British Army, BT, Royal Navy, PwC, The Go-Ahead Group, Deloitte, Royal Air Force, EY, Department for Work and Pensions and Nissan.
