EB News: 02/12/2021 - 13:16
The All Party Parliamentary Group (APPG) on school food has announced their Excellence in School Food Awards 2021/22 are now open for entries.
The awards are aimed at recognising excellence in innovation within the school food sector in three categories: groups, individuals and schools.
The groups category can go to an organisation, charity or catering team who have used the initiative to serve healthy food to children and have achieved positive outcomes for local communities and children.
The Individuals category will go to an individual who has shown individual commitment; someone whose ideas and innovation have changed things for the better; someone who has had a significant impact on local communities and children.
The schools category can go to either an in-house catering team, head teacher, teacher(s) or support staff – who have come up with a creative initiative to serve healthy food to children within the school setting.
A report from the Digital Poverty Alliance show that while digital tools are now embedded across school routines, access and usability remain deeply uneven.
School food improvement programme Nourish is set to launch in Cumberland in 2026, working with schools to improve the quality and culture of food throughout the school day
