Robin Walker has been appointed as schools minister, replacing long standing school minister Nick Gibb, who was removed from the position in Boris Johnson's cabinet reshuffle.
Walker tweeted: "Delighted to be appointed by Boris Johnson to join Nadhim Zahawi at the Department for Education as Minister for Schools - an enormous challenge and a huge opportunity to level up & support the next generation."
The MP for Worcester is currently a Northern Ireland minister. He once served as parliamentary private secretary to education secretary Nicky Morgan.
Robin was educated at St Paul’s School in London and went on to study Ancient and Modern History at Balliol College, Oxford.
