Staggered return for pupils in Wales from 22 February

The Welsh Government has announced that there will be a phased return to face to face learning for Foundation Phase learners (3–7 year olds) from 22 February.
This comes following a paper published from the Technical Advisory Group (TAG), which says that the improvement in the public health situation "allows us to consider a partial and phased return to face-to-face learning in schools”.
It said that any further phasing of more year groups will be considered as part of the next 21 day review on the 19 February.
TAG confirms that the most effective preventative measures are ones schools have already put in place, but have made recommendations to strengthen existing mitigating measures in light of the new variants. Updated operational guidance will be published early next week.
A new survey by the British Council has revealed that more than two thirds (67%) of primary school age children say they would like to spend more time at school learning a language.
