Schools forced to close due to storm Ciara
Storm Ciara hit the UK this weekend, and with winds of up to 97mph recorded in some parts, flooding, power cuts and fallen trees have caused some schools to close.
Five Norfolk have closed due to a lack of electricity caused by the storm.
Schools in Calderdale have had to close due to flooding, while a school in Hove is unable to open due to ‘significant’ damage to the building.
Fallen trees have also caused road closures meaning disruption getting to some schools.
The government has a website to check which schools have had to close in an emergency.
