Schools funding allocations published by DfE
Schools across the country will find out how much they will get from the government’s recent investment in education.
The DfE says that every secondary school will be able to receive a minimum of £5,000 per pupil next year, and every primary school will be able to receive a minimum of £4,000 from 2021-22. The biggest increases will go to the schools that need it most.
This follows the Prime Minister’s announcement in August that the budget for schools and high needs would be increased by a total of over £14 billion over three years, rising to £52.2 billion by 2022-23.
Schools and local authorities will today find out how Government is allocating the first part of that investment - £2.6 billion - for the coming year.
This new funding includes £780 million in 2020-21 to help children with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND) to reach their potential.
