College of Teaching opens applications for trustees
EB News: 28/07/2016 - 10:30
The forthcoming College of Teaching has opened applications for trustees to help establish the professional membership body.
The College of Teaching is due to launch this autumn as a new chartered institute for the profession, which will be run by teachers and operate independently from government.
It is now seeking eight new classroom teachers to join as trustees, who will be involved in leading the organisation as it opens membership to teachers and schools across the country.
The role of trustee is voluntary and involves up to 20 days a year, with meetings normally scheduled for Saturdays so as not to clash with teaching hours.
The job advert outlines that applicants must be a classroom based teacher who has a current teaching contract, have at least five years teaching experience, and have an up to date knowledge of developments in the education sector.
The deadline for applications is Friday 30 September and the job advert can be found here.
