Sir David Carter is expected to be named as the next national schools commissioner (NSC), according to reports by TES.
Carter is a former head teacher and has been the regional schools commissioner (RSC) for the South West of England since 2014.
He will take over from the existing NSC Frank Green, who’s contract is due to run out in spring 2016. Carter’s appointment as NSC will likely coincide with an expansion of job description, with a greater role in overseeing the eight RSCs.
