£7 million Birmingham free school in ‘special measures’
The school, one of a chain of six free schools in Birmingham, was opened by David Cameron in 2013 and was labelled ‘a real success story’. The report accused the schools leadership, most of whom have since resigned, as having an ‘unrealistic and inaccurate’ view of the school.
Despite ‘fundamentally disagreeing’ with Ofsted’s verdict, Perry Breeches chief executive Liam Nolan has taken on the role of interim head teacher following former head Darren Foreman’s resignation. Nolan admitted that the report made him ‘question Ofsted’s credibility’, but said he is keen to get past what he views as an ‘unfortunate blip’.
