A new study from Dynata shows significant concern from parents over their children’s mental wellbeing since schools were forced to close their doors again this term.
51% of parents in the UK are concerned about their children’s lack of socialisation time with friends because of school closures, which is 3.5% ahead of their concerns over educational gaps and 28% ahead of exam worries.
This is according to survey data from Dynata, who polled 1,000 people in the UK to check on the nation’s feelings on school closures.
The data, collected in the w/c 18th January, also finds that a third of parents say their children are feeling anxious, isolated (30%) and unmotivated (26%). Whilst 24% said their children felt happy, only 15% said they were relieved that schools remained closed.
