Ofsted has updated its guidance to say it will pause its remote monitoring inspections for the week beginning March 8 when schools open for all pupils. This they say will allow schools to focus on wider reopening.
Ofsted has been carrying out remote monitoring visits since January of schools graded ‘inadequate’ or ‘requires improvement’, as on site inspections were suspended during the pandemic. For the rest of the term, Ofsted has said will continue its inspections remotely by default.
Ofsted will, however, carry out on-site inspections if they have any immediate concerns, for example, about safeguarding or the leadership of a school.
