Mental Health in Education conferences confirmed

The Association of Mental Health in Education, (AMHIE) is hosting conferences in Leeds, Peterborough and Newcastle to help mental health leads in schools come together to learn, develop and implement good practice in their communities.

Anne Fine, award winning author and former Children’s Laureate will be the keynote speaker at each of the conferences in June.

Other speakers include Dr Alexandra Hennessey, Dr Andrew Scott and Dr Nic Hooper, who will join other experts in children’s mental health to share their research and insights into the issues around mental health in schools.

Attendees will have the opportunity to network with other mental health leads and share knowledge and skills that are relevant to their job role, as well as access services and products that are carefully selected to be relevant to them and their education setting.

They will also be able to attend talks and seminars with guest speakers and panels hosted by education leaders who understand the demands put on mental health leads, and share challenges and successes with peers and experts who have the same background.

Show organiser and founder of AMHIE, Richard-Daniel Curtis says: "Education professionals are under intense pressure and the increase in children suffering from poor mental health very often means that mental health needs have to be picked up by teachers and non-mental health professionals.

"This conference gives educators an opportunity to learn from their peers, share their challenges and access the latest information from industry leaders."
