Two-metre social distance rule suggested for Scottish secondaries

Scotland's Advisory Sub-Group on Education and Children’s Issues has advised that secondary schools should impose a two-metre social distancing rules when open for more pupils later this month.

The two-metre rule is already in place for teachers at secondary schools, while primary pupils should observe it "whenever possible".

Some senior secondary pupils preparing for exams could be back in the classroom from 22 February.

Education Secretary John Swinney described the proposals as "an important scientific and clinical update".
