New appointments made at the Department for Education

Will Quince has returned to the Department for Education as Minister for School Standards, replacing Robin Walker who resigned on 6 July after loosing confidence in Prime Minister Boris Johnson's leadership.
Quince, who was Minister for Children and Families, resigned from that post on 6 July, only to be reappointed to the department in the new role.
Brendan Clarke-Smith has been appointed as the new Minister for Children and Families at the Department for Education.
The new appointments follow as string of resignations last week, where ministers were concerned over Boris Johnson's leadership. The Prime Minister has now announced he is stepping down.
James Cleverly was appointed Secretary of State for Education on 7 July 2022, after Michelle Donelan was in the top post for less than two days before resigning. Former Education Secretary Nadhim Zahawi was promoted to Chancellor in the resulting cabinet reshuffle.
