Free KS2 lessons plans on healthy family relationships
EB News: 06/08/2019 - 09:33
Charity Family Action and the children’s newspaper First News are teaming up to create a free, five-part teaching pack about healthy family relationships, which will be published in September 2019.
The pack is part of Family Action’s 150th anniversary campaign encouraging people to talk about the everyday pressures in their family, as this can help to prevent worries from becoming overwhelming.
The PHSE lesson plans follow the draft teaching guidelines on relationships and health education for primary school years five and six (key stage two). The new guidelines will apply from September 2020.
First News Education and Family Action are using the charity’s experience of working with families to develop the teaching resource, and are bringing it to life with real examples of families from when the charity was founded in 1869 through to the present day.
A new survey by the British Council has revealed that more than two thirds (67%) of primary school age children say they would like to spend more time at school learning a language.
Forty-four per cent of education professionals are unfamiliar with the Terrorism (Protection of Premises) Act 2025, otherwise known as Martyn’s Law, according to new research.
