DfE sets up helpline for coronavirus advice
EB News: 03/03/2020 - 07:14
The Department for Education has opened a helpline for schools giving advice on managing the spread of the Coronavirus.
The helpline will be open from 8am to 6pm on weekdays from now on, and can give advice to educational settings, from early years to universities.
Despite instructions from PHE that there is no need to do so, a number of headteachers have taken the decision to close schools as a precaution.
Ofqual has also said it is currently working with exam boards and the Department for Education to establish whether any additional contingency measures should be put in place for this year’s summer exam series in response to the outbreak of Coronavirus.
A new survey by the British Council has revealed that more than two thirds (67%) of primary school age children say they would like to spend more time at school learning a language.
