Matthew Burton is Headteacher of Thornhill Community Academy and is widely recognised for his role in Channel 4’s Education Yorkshire, which earned a BAFTA nomination.

Since becoming Headteacher in 2018, he has led the school through significant change, championing a strong ethos that places both high standards and staff wellbeing at its core.

Focused on leadership, operational excellence and system-wide improvement, Matthew is also an accomplished author whose books, Go Big and Back on Track, have supported thousands of young people in navigating school life and achieving success.
