First 'ADHD Friendly School' recognised

Pocklington Junior School in East Yorkshire has become the first in the county to be awarded the ADHD Friendly School award from the ADHD Foundation.

The award, handed out by foundation patron Rory Bremner, was presented to the school at the ADHD Foundation annual conference in Liverpool for its “outstanding commitment to all of their pupils with ADHD.”

As well as thorough staff training provided by the foundation, the school has put in place support structures and strategies to ensure that children with ADHD can access the curriculum fully and are happy and achieving at school.

What's more, all pupils learn about differences in their peers during lessons and assemblies.
