Award recognises work to advance the best use of ICT in classrooms across the UK.
Co-founder and CEO of Espresso Education, Lewis Bronze, has been awarded an ‘Outstanding Achievement Award’ at the ERA’s 12 annual ceremony, in recognition of his outstanding service to the education sector.
Bronze was inspired by the idea of delivering video news to the classroom that would be regularly updated, adding meaning and relevance to the curriculum being taught in schools.
The idea soon expanded to include the creation of browser-based, video-rich, multimedia educational ‘modules’, with video at the ‘heart’ to demonstrate hard-to-teach concepts.
Over half of England’s primary schools subscribe annually to the Espresso Primary service and almost a quarter of secondary schools subscribe to the company’s Clipbank service. Lewis has worked tirelessly to advance the ‘best use of ICT’ in classrooms across the UK since the establishment of the company in 1997. Bronze said: "At Espresso, we strive to ensure we bring a level of content, service and support to our customers that sets a wonderful standard in the industry."
"It is simply a privilege to be able to feed children’s enormous appetite for learning with creative and innovative materials."
